MCA president Ong Ka Ting today declined to comment on a sex video scandal which surfaced in Johor two days ago that allegedly involves a national politician from the state.

At a function in the party headquarters today (right), the housing and local government minister repeatedly told journalists gathered there that no press conference would be held.

“If I answer one question, I know you will ask more questions. There’s no press conference,” he said with a smile to journalists who pressed him for comments on the scandal.

The Chinese dailies have over the past two days reported that free DVDs - allegedly showing the politician in various sexual antics with a woman - were first distributed in Muar and later, Batu Pahat and Seremban.

The scandal broke on Saturday when copies of the DVD were anonymously placed in various streets in Muar town for people to collect. Some copies were even distributed by unknown individuals to a number of shops in the area.

Two DVDs

According to eyewitnesses who have watched the tape, there were two separate DVDs depicting the alleged sex act purportedly recorded using closed circuit television (CCTV).

The first DVD lasting 56 minutes showed the entire sexual act from four different camera angles showing the bed, main door and living room.

Labelled as ‘(name of politician deleted) rapes and threatens woman’, a man can be seen walking into a room believed to be in a hotel and engages in sex with apparently a woman in her 30s.

Meanwhile, the second disc lasting 44 minutes was labelled ‘(name of politician deleted) sex video’ and featured the same sex act from a sole stationary camera that zoomed on the bed.

It was alleged that a rather clear image of the couple can be seen in the video and they spoke in the Hokkien dialect.

Eyewitnesses described that the video clip begins with the alleged politician in the room taking a shower and changing clothes. A woman later knocks on the door and is seen entering the room. The couple appears to know each other.

The video then shows the woman taking out a laptop and placed it on the bed, and then going into the bathroom and emerging later naked.

The woman then performs oral sex on the alleged politician and this is followed by sexual intercourse on bed. The couple appears to be watching something on the laptop during their sexual act.

Authenticity questioned

The DVD has caused chaos and curiosity alike in Johor. DVD peddlers are also said to be scrambling to get hold of the two discs to make pirated copies.

In an immediate response, opposition DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng yesterday urged Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to investigate the scandal.

“This involves a high-profile politician. If the allegations are false, action should be taken against those who distributed the video and the politician’s name should be cleared,” he said.

“However, if this is true, stern action must be taken against the politician,” he added.

Meanwhile, observers cautioned that the authenticity of the sex video must be first determined because the footage could have been edited and the couple replaced by actors.

Observers also speculated that the man in the video could be the alleged senior politician’s brother or possibly a lookalike.

Cakera padat digital (DVD) yang didakwa mengandungi adegan hubungan seks antara seorang pemimpin politik nasional berasal dari Johor dengan seorang wanita berusia 20-an kini tersebar di Muar dan Tangkak sejak semalam.

Selepas penyebaran meluas secara percuma di Muar kelmarin, DVD tersebut dikatakan mula disebarkan pula ke daerah Batu Pahat hari ini.

Rakaman hubungan seks itu yang diambil menerusi kamera litar tertutup (CCTV) selama sejam dipercayai dirakamkan di dalam sebuah bilik hotel.

Bagaimanapun, lokasi hotel itu tidak diketahui.

Sejak laporan mengenai DVD itu tersiar dalam beberapa akhbar berbahasa Cina hari ini, DVD tersebut dikatakan ‘disembunyikan’ oleh para pengedar kerana bimbang tindakan polis.

DVD itu mengandungi dua bahagian iaitu A dan B yang diedar secara percuma di beberapa lokasi sejak malam semalam.

Bahagian A memaparkan aksi lucah hubungan seks antara seorang lelaki yang didakwa sebagai pemimpin politik dengan seorang wanita menggunakan satu kamera CCTV.

Bahagian B pula menayangkan rakaman hubungan seks dari empat penjuru daripada kamera CCTV berlainan melibatkan ‘pelakon’ yang sama.

Berdasarkan gerak tubuh dan bayangan dalam DVD itu, masyarakat di Muar percaya ia hampir 70 peratus menyerupai wajah pemimpin politik tersebut.

Namun, percakapan serta wajah pemimpin itu dari dekat tidak begitu jelas digambarkan di dalam DVD itu.

Dalam perkembangan berkaitan, Ketua Polis Johor, Datuk Hussin Ismail yang dihubungi Utusan Malaysia petang ini memberitahu, pihaknya masih belum menerima sebarang laporan berhubung penyebaran DVD itu.

“Sehingga petang ini belum ada laporan yang diterima, justeru kita tidak boleh siasat dan buat apa-apa kenyataan setakat ini,” katanya.
