The officials have made every Thursday a batik day for the civil servants in Malaysia. Starting from this Thursday, government servants will have to wear colorful and authentic batik every Thursday instead of the usual twice a month. Btw, not just any batik. It has to be MALAYSIAN batik! How do they differentiate, I wonder?! Do they have to have a signature “Made in Malaysia” printed on their shirt?

Anyway, the good news is that all the departments and government agencies will have to design their own batik attire and they will be provided free to the civil servants. It’s a form of uniform for them to wear every Thursday! Phewwww … that definitely will save the meager income earners a great deal on shopping for a few nice batik attires. Can’t be wearing the same shirt every Thursday, can they? It also helps to save those women from having a batik fashion parade every Thursday by competing who has got the most beautiful batik attire!
