Hindu devotees boycott Batu Caves or Semi V?

January24

Eh Semi V too self-conscious leh - he thinks devotees are boycotting him. What’s more? He even threatened the mastermind behind - wahhhhh like 大哥! My opinion? He’s too loud! Shiok sendiri baru tau!

“Who can threaten us? Anyone who threatens us, we can find out where he is. It takes only five hours to find out where he is. They can’t run away from us.” - Semi Value

Well, let’s not play the guessing game about who is boycotting who. Or if Hindraf is behind the reason there are less devotees this year. It could be that people are still scarred from the “unreasonable attack” two months ago.

Some quarters claimed that the police locked several thousand ‘Hindraf supporters’ in the Batu Caves compound in the early hours of Nov 25 before firing tear gas and chemical-laced water on them. - MalaysiaKini.com

It’s a religious festival - please leave politics out! Don’t further add on to your sins!

I agree that it is areligious festival and Samy should have refrained from talking politics. However, he was dissopinted with the turnout that he had to codemn the people who sent sms. Indians know that their religiuos wow are important, hence they will surely come to fulfill.

I think the boycott was against Batu Caves too because mgmt of Batu Caves is corrupt. National TV reported the head of Batu Caves saying rent is RM 100,200,300 for the stalls but the stallholders says rent is RM 6,000 -5,000

To say there was a complete boycott of the Thaipusam festival at Batu Caves would be not correct as the more religious people would still observe the significance of it The wire news agencies put the turnout in tens of thousands whereas the Official Spin media still had the 1/2 Million figures as at noon swelling perhaps to 1 Million. Whatever it is the pictures tell the story. On the day before the big event, the crowds were not there and a number of the larger stalls were still unoccupied. The temple official explanation ‘This year we had reduced the number of stalls to give people more walking space…. and the charges of the stalls were from RM100, to RM300 depending on the sizes. Two of the owners were complain the stall cost RM3000 & almost RM6000 in rental and suffered losses.
However the crowds did pick up with the arrival of the Chariot carry Lord Murugan from ChinaTown temple. As to the SMSs that were floating around the whole of the week before Thaipusam, Samy Vellus had this to say of them:
”These are nasty, nasty low graded fellows. Their mind is not the high quality mind – low quality mind. They don’t have the capacity to think, capacity do things in a manner that complies with the law & order”
