  • My Macbook will get a new family member - iMac

I am going to get iMac finally. Will get the 20″ iMac 2.66ghz Core 2 Duo instead of the 24″ 2.8ghz Core 2 Duo. Way too much and it’s out of my budget. Of course, the 24″ comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS which is so much better than ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro. But that is ok … cuz our Dell has NVIDIA GeForce. So if there’s really a need for better graphic performance, I can use the Dell.

According to hubby, for basic use and some designing work, in fact 20″ iMac 2.4ghz is good enough but the graphic card is lousy. It’s the most basic of ATI Radeon. Obviously, the speed sux!

It also comes with 2gb memory which is upgradable to maximum 4gb.

It will come with Leopard and pre-installed iLife. iWork have to be purchased separately. Talking about iWork, I have yet to install it in my Macbook. So, no hands on experience with it. Hopefully, it’s as good as what was mentioned in the many reviews which I have came across.

Btw, can anyone tell me if there’s any way to update iLife to the latest version for FREE?

    Thanks in advance!
