Firefox Mobile on the go?

September23

Yay! For those who are always on the go, and are avid fans of FIREFOX … good news! Mozilla has announced that they will be bringing Firefox Mobile to handsets worldwide by 2010 but the alpha testing may come as soon as the end of this year.

Do you think Firefox Mobile will have a hard time fighting the existing established mobile browsers like Opera and Safari? My hubby told me Opera Mobile rox!

Awwww … I want my Nikon Dx!

September18

But D90 is so friggin tempting and it’s not even out in the market yet … it should be out this quarter. I think some time end of September. I checked the price … it’s friggin EXPENSIVE! The body alone can cost up to USD1500 … dang BAN NIKON!

Joke a side, I seriously hope santa would bring me an early gift … *hinting to hubby*

In my head now … D80 or D90? If D90 I gotta wait a while still … not really a while but I guess over a year because can’t expect the price to drop so instantaneously! D80 was released in 2006 and it’s still quite dear!

MYKad can get you fuel

September16

Yeah all you need to do is to open either a savings or checking account with EON Bank, which UNFORTUNATELY is the only bank that does payment transactions through MYKad at the moment. So for those of you with the glamorous Citibank, Standard Chartered or HSBC … you just wait! Yeah you hear me … you just wait! Only those who DO NOT have an account with EON Bank need to OPEN a NEW account. Existing EON customers with either account can register at ePetrol kiosks.

The transaction is done through the debit way. So, bottom line, no money no petrol.

Good news is:

We give a 15-sen rebate per litre up to 150 litres a month as a test

The Malaysian Government Shamed Us

September13

… they have once again shamed us. Are we really a democratic nation? Is there really democracy?

Why is ISA used on PKR, Teresa Kok and the Sin Chew journalist? To shut their mouths up? To show that the government is adamant to deprive us of our freedom of speech? To show that there’s no winning situation with the government?

Washington summons Malaysian envoy

KUALA LUMPUR: The United States has summoned Ilango Karuppannan, the charge d’affaires of the Malaysian embassy, to protest what it called the “crackdown on dissent” at a time when the opposition was attempting to form a new government.

According to the AFP, Ilango was summoned to the State Department after the three arrests under the Internal Security Act (ISA) on Friday.

”Peaceful expression of political opinions is a fundamental right and critical to a democracy,” a State Department official told AFP.

”The United States believes that the Malaysian Government should provide due process and treatment consistent with Malaysian law and international standards,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

”We expect that democratic countries that purport to advocate free expression of political views will not curtail such freedom,” the official said.

This is the second time Ilango was summoned to the State Department in a month.

The last time was when PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was charged with sodomy.

”The United States firmly believes that freedom of the press and freedom of speech are fundamental to a vibrant democracy,” the State Department official said.

On Friday, Malaysia Today news portal editor Raja Petra Kamarudin, Sin Chew Daily News reporter Tan Hoon Cheng and Seputeh MP and Selangor senior executive councillor Teresa Kok were arrested under the ISA.

Three publications - Sin Chew Daily, The Sun and Suara Keadilan - have also been issued show-cause letters by the Home Ministry for breaching guidelines set by the Government.
