CHR/CHA Error message on your Nikon

October31

It doesnt matter which Nikon series your dSLR is. Nikon tend to have this CHR error. Ever wonder what it is? I have been taking pix with my D90 yesterday and so in the evening, I transferred them to the PC. After that, I wanted to take more pix. The camera began showing the CHR error and it wouldnt snap. It just stalled.

My heart missed a beat. I thought something was wrong with the NEW camera. I tried to backtrack what I had done to cause this. Apparently, the last thing I did on was to remove and re-insert back the SD memory card. So, I ejected the card and slotted it back in. Tada! It worked.

So, today I googled for answer and the conclusion I got was - bad contact between the card and the camera. I was using the adaptor type of SD. It was quite “tight” and was difficult to get it out of the camera. So today, told hubby to get me a normal SD card - and he got me SDHC Class 6 memory card. So far so good. I havent seen the error.

So, if you see this error on your Nikon - dont panic. It seems like a very common issue for Nikon cameras and the memory cards. Alternatively, you can also check the firmware … perhaps your camera needs to update its firmware.

Hope this helps.

UPDATE: This is also mentioned in your Nikon Dxxx manual - the thick book. I only discovered few nites ago. wtf.

“Come and get your baby!” says Ah Moi

October29

Seriously, who with a friggin SANE mind would ABANDON such a cute little boy like Richard?! It’s so heart-wrenching whenever we come across such articles.

It’s your own flesh and blood you know - Richard’s parents! He’s such an adorable little boy. Besides, he looks really healthy and smiling and all. Let him grow up properly. Come and get him! Otherwise, he’ll fall into the hands of the welfare department … we’re not sure if he’s ever gonna smile like he smiled in this photo then.

If you have financial difficulties, get help, man. Don’t leave the poor boy with some strangers!

Those with information about these two heartless people (obviously the parents) are urged to contact MCA Public Complaints and Services Department head Datuk Michael Chong at 03-21618044.

Digital SLR Cameras & Photography for Dummies

October27

I bought this book from Barnes & Noble @ Costa Mesa, California. Well, actually hubby got it. It’s quite a good book for starters. Worth investing! Only USD29.99 … dirt cheap! I doubt I can find it so cheap from Suomalainen Kirjakauppa. Anyway, I’ll be heading to Akademia to check out more books on photography.

Well, the reason I’m writing this is because I am not very happy with the condition of the book! I was upset because the friggin book has been flipped thru by some cheapos who go for free frills at B&N! There are prints and marks on certain pages in the book. wtf. I wrote to B&N and they said they would gladly refund me provided I ship back the book with receipt attached within 14 days! FARK! SO … conclusion is … I’ll have to get stuck with this book! Believe me, I cleaned the book page by page 3 friggin times with a cloth! It’s so gross to see someone’s finger print on a page … ok the page is kinda glossy … so finger prints are fuggin obvious! I actually tore that fuggin page away - yeah it’s just an intro page … so thank GOD!

Anger aside. I only got the book for a day … and I’m already so in love with the gist. This is a good Christmas present for someone who’s picking up photography. Oh yeah, don’t forget to check the book for gross stuff before you make a purchase … especially if it’s from Barnes and Noble.

OMG They are good!

It’s been a frustrating process with searching for a good Mariah Carey’s Bye Bye on youtube. Then I found this:

Crap!

October18

My friggin RealRank is gone. I forgot to add the ITK code to the new theme. I didn’t realize it wasn’t working until I logged into my PPP account that showed the plugin not working. So, last night, I quickly reinstalled the code again. Yeah, it’s working now. But my Real Rank still hasn’t been restored. Urrrggghhhh … they better give me back my RR!!!

New Macbook is here

October17

This is SO NOT macbook anymore. I still prefer the plastic feeling! I don’t like the aluminium casing because I think it’s so prone to scratches … even more visible than those on a plastic surface. Crap, BLACK KEYBOARD!? Where’s the WHITE APPLE touch???

Besides being ultra-thin 13.3″, it feels like taking an iMac on the go *lol* Alright … it’s ugly. Oh yeah, the two buttons on the trackpad has been removed to give your fingers more space. wtf. What for? More elegance? Anyway, the price is pretty affordable being the lowest specs starting from USD1299.

Madonna-Ritchie divorce confirmed

October16

These two are finally announcing their divorce! I think Madonna is having someone. What a whore! I used to like her and her songs. Thought she was a great woman for the women!

She also claimed Guy is a very jealous guy. Whenver she’s choreographing with the opposite sex having close proximity - body contact, he will get very upset. At least, that was what she said during a reality show. I guess that was like 4 years ago or even more *shrugs* Celebrities’ life is so complicated. Why can’t they be any more down-to-earth???

CNN Entertainment
16 October 2008
Pop star Madonna and her film director husband Guy Ritchie are to divorce, Madonna’s UK spokeswoman, Moira Bellas, confirmed to CNN.

A statement e-mailed to The Associated Press from Madonna spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg says the couple has agreed to divorce, and asks the media to respect their privacy.

The statement, co-signed by Ritchie’s representative, says the couple had not agreed to a settlement.

The Sun newspaper — a British tabloid — first reported Wednesday that the couple would announce the split imminently.

Ritchie, 40, and Madonna married seven years ago at a lavish ceremony in Scotland, but rumors have been circulating in the press recently that their relationship was increasingly under strain.Video

Earlier this year, the singer denied being involved romantically with New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez was eventually divorced from his wife.

The last time the couple was seen together in public was in September, when Madonna took a break from touring to celebrate her husband’s birthday at a London pub.

A recent escalation in rows led to Madonna and Ritchie communicating via their personal assistants, The Sun reported.

“Despite huge attempts to patch things up they both know deep down that divorce was on the cards. It wasn’t a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when,” The Sun, quoting a source, reported.

The couple have two children together — Rocco, 8, and David, 3, adopted from Malawi in 2006. Madonna also has a daughter, Lourdes, 12, from a previous relationship with dancer Carlos Leon.

Madonna, who turned 50 earlier this year, was previously married to U.S. actor Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989.

The British Press Association said that Ritchie has broken off from filming in France to fly back to the UK to inform his parents of the split.

Ritchie made his name with 1998’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” a London gangster movie hailed by critics, who called him the British version of U.S. director Quentin Tarantino.

He continued the successful directing style with “Snatch” and “Revolver,” but he bombed with “Swept Away” in 2002, which featured his wife. The deserted-island story grossed just $600,000 and was pulled from theaters after three weeks.

His latest film is “RocknRolla,” currently showing in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto, is set for release across the U.S on October 31.

According to The Sun, Madonna had wanted to wait until the end of her Sticky and Sweet global tour before announcing the news. But the date has now been brought forward with both parties wanting a divorce finalized before Christmas, it reported.

However, divorce lawyer Jeremy Abraham told CNN that such a swift resolution would be unlikely. Video Watch more about the couple’s problems ยป

“By my calculations, the earliest it’s likely they could be divorced is the middle of February next year,” he said.

With Madonna worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Abraham added that he hoped the couple would be instituting an agreed plan to separate, rather than following the “Mills-McCartney nightmare” and fighting for a financial settlement through the courts.

After an acrimonious separation from Paul McCartney, Heather Mills was awarded a settlement of almost $50 million in March this year.
