Travel dangerously on KL Monorail
KUALA LUMPUR: Hundreds of commuters were left stranded for hours after a technical glitch stopped the KL Monorail at about 1pm Saturday.
Monorial stations were jammed with commuters as they waited for coaches which did not arrive.
Announcements were made that the service was experiencing a technical problem and would resume in a short while.
“When I asked what was wrong, a staff told me that there was something wrong with one of the trains’ gearbox,” said restaurant owner M. Gopala, 49, at the Imbi station.
Soon the crowds grew larger as commuters continued to pour in.
“People were queuing on the escalators as the platform was already packed,” said Gopala, who later took a taxi.
There were similar scenes at other stations.
P. Jayavinayagan, 25 said the incident had inconvenienced many people who were out shopping.
“The service should have been maintained at its best during the peak hours,” he added.
A ticket seller, who declined to be named, said trains only started running at about 4pm.
KL Monorail and Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad could not be reached for comment.

OMFG - imagine if there’s someone suicidal in the monorail - or someone crazy in the monorail who would just push someone at random off the train - geeeezzzzz that’s scary!
